tl;cr meme

STEP ONE: Post with your character!
STEP TWO: Respond to other people's characters with your characters. They will then tell you, in detail, what their character thinks of yours -- and as per the meme's title, tl;dr is encouraged, but not necessary! Don't be afraid to ask others for their characters' first impressions of yours as well.
STEP THREE: Write out tl;dr for whoever comments to you in return.
STEP FOUR: Chat with each other in mutual joy/horror/disgust/delight/confusion at where your CR has gone!
BONUS: Use this for writing up CR charts, or if you already have them written, link to them!

Seto

To the surprise of no one, Seto's thoughts on Ren are both pretty complicated and kinda simple (in a way). Ren was the second person that he ever met in his life and going after her sparked the adventure that changed his world in a lot of profound ways. Ren's existance was the catalyst of Seto meeting all of his friends and without her, he would have continued to be alone. She is indeed the center of his world but that's not the only reason why Seto likes her: Ren's a nice girl and fun to be around and find
trashtreasure with. And on LifeAftr, he's happy to see that she's able to smile so much more thanks to the elves and everyone else she's met. Ren being happy makes Seto happy, it's simple math.But...we can't not mention Ren's illness and Seto's canon update. Seto does indeed hold some fear for the day that Ren's pills stop working (as shown in the dream breaking thread) and she passes away, as he's still currently unaware death is not permenante in LifeAftr. But most importantly Seto remembers his own reaction to the news when he first learned of it back home and he doesn't want to do that again to her, hence why he hasn't mentioned his new knowledge to Ren. Again, Seto wants to put Ren's happiness first and foremost in LifeAftr if he can.
And if that means never sharing that fear, so be it.

Ichimatsu really did startle the heck out of Seto when they first met because getting grabbed suddenly when you tell someone your name sure leaves a lasting impression on a kid. That being said, Seto does get where Ichimatsu was coming from regarding Ren - especially since Seto knows full well how long she was left alone for. So while he does understand Ichimatsu for being angry that Seto wasn't on the islands sooner, he'll have to forgive Seto for staying out of arm's reach for a bit.

That alone tends to often put people in Seto's good books but he likes the Drifter based on their own merits. They're both nice and brave which are traits that Seto finds admirable and they're willing to indulge both his and Ren's sillier ideas like the Best Plan Ever, aka bad storytelling. That being said, the Drifter's determination too keep going during their escape during the Water break out event was both admirable and frightening - mostly because they didn't stop despite being hurt and Seto doesn't have the context to understand why they would do that. So while it's not the near-obsessive protectiveness he has for Ren, Seto wants to make sure the Drifter isn't put in that position again, hence why Seto asked to learn sign language so he could understand if the Drifter needed to ask for help again.
