Aspic is when you boil some hooves and gristly offcuts of a farm animal of your choosing, flavour the resulting gelatin with meat juice, and then chill it with bits of meat and vegetable suspended inside. It's a jiggly nightmare. It's a food prank gone too far. At least oysters are one and done, like a shot. Knock it back and get on with your life. I'd pick that any day.
