tl;cr meme

STEP ONE: Post with your character!
STEP TWO: Respond to other people's characters with your characters. They will then tell you, in detail, what their character thinks of yours -- and as per the meme's title, tl;dr is encouraged, but not necessary! Don't be afraid to ask others for their characters' first impressions of yours as well.
STEP THREE: Write out tl;dr for whoever comments to you in return.
STEP FOUR: Chat with each other in mutual joy/horror/disgust/delight/confusion at where your CR has gone!
BONUS: Use this for writing up CR charts, or if you already have them written, link to them!

well, there was a BIT of a stumble on their first meeting lol - the drifter doesnt like being grabbed or handled against their will. its partially an instinct refined from being vocally unwanted and a subject of fantastic racial discrimination back in buried time and partially just due to the fact that they reflexively dont want someone to be allowed a chance to potentially exploit a vulnerability. thats pure battle instinct - if you expose a weakness, thats something someone else can take advantage of, and they want to avoid that whenever possible, particularly because theyre such a fragile person to begin with.

given how curt and businesslike these two both are by default, that had the potential to go very poorly. luckily, it didnt. it was a barrier they had to actively work to overcome, but seeing as the hunter was helping them and not like fuckin racially discriminating against them, the drifter didnt really have any actual problems with that. theyre not someone who can afford to hold grudges by nature so they mostly...dont. they both slipped up in that initial interaction in a lot of ways but managed to stumble their way through it and its actually kind of a pity that the drifter isnt really the sort to acknowledge that thats something of a feat in and of itself lol.

aside from that the hunter is the kind of person the drifter can understand very naturally because hes similar to them in that video game protag sort of way. he has a goal. he wants to accomplish it. he will trade knowledge for aid, and vice versa. for the first time since ending up here, the drifter has someone who understands debt and knowledge for knowledge and bartering, and that was a familiar thing they hadnt realized theyd missed. theyd also gotten...used to other peoples generosity, which is easy to do when everyone here is comparatively so fuckin nice compared to the way things were in buried time but not an instinct the drifter wanted to fall into by any means. so in a way the hunter was this subtle wake up call of "you cant just rely on other people buddo" and they took that to heart.

currently they regard him with wary neutrality. hes not proven to be anything but someone whos probably pretty reliable in a fight, so they just hope theyre not on the wrong said of said fight if it ever comes to be. they can recognize someone who has very clear cut goals and that is something of a relief to them - thats the sort of straightforward shit they can understand.
