Oh, I was already on the lam from the military before that mess, it was kind of a whole thing. Even if I hadn't died and wound up in world-hopping purgatory I'd have either been convicted or quit myself.

Well, dying is sure one way to get out of a job, I will say that. Not like, the best way? But you know. Points for style. I've always wanted to fake my own death, so in a way, you're living the dream.
