The Omniscience Meme

You now know your entire canon! All of those things that happened before you were born, when you weren't in the room, after you died... it's all there, in your head.

...And in the mind of everyone else, for that matter. Now what?

Oh yes, they've got a knack for keeping things running.

So what is Tem Armor made out of, anyway? Can't say I ever understood that.

I have honestly no idea. I know it must involve some kind of green magic, since it's got a persistent healing effect, but when it comes to infusing magic in things all my focus was on edibles, not objects.

Maybe we should hope a few of them show up here sometime.

It would certainly make the place more lively.

...I have heard that some small percentage of humans are allergic to Temmie fur, though, that could be a problem. Then again, it's not a small island, they could probably just avoid anyone with that issue.

It's not like we have a huge amount of humans here anyway.

Well, it's certainly more humans than I grew up with, but I suppose that's not hard.

[Since the amount of humans around when she was growing up was, uh, none. The last of the six ill-fated souls fell long before she was born, and Frisk didn't arrive until she was already an adult.]

No, it doesn't quite compare to that. But there's a difference between one year of my life and the first twenty-four of them- it's been very fun, but I'm still not quite used to them all.

Guess I can't blame you.

Some people never get used to it.

[She catches his meaning but doesn't push on it too much- she suspects he'd be embarrassed by talking about it.]

I think it helps that all the other monsters are still figuring it out, too- it's reassuring that I'm not the only one learning.

So is this whole island thing helping or hurting at that point?

...I admit, I do have to wonder how far we'll ultimately get. I'd been worried about the future, before, but I hadn't realized I needed to be so concerned about literally repeating our past.

That is what they say about history, I guess. Repeating the mistakes of the past.

True. It's just that I'd previously thought that involved more refusal to learn from one's mistakes and less actual time travel.

[Like, for all the things that could have been a factor in human-monster relations, she seriously wasn't expecting time travel to be one of them.]

We're in a liminal island space where time is pretty secondary.

[Not for nothing, but she ought to get used to it.]

Well, yes, but this place was already fairly unusual. I could see time travel happening here, but at home? Really wasn't anticipating that.

[Some people might question her defining somewhere with an underground kingdom of friendly magical monsters as 'not unusual' but, y'know, it's what you grow up with.]

Does it explain anything, or does it just make it worse?

I suppose in retrospect it does explain those odd little moments of deja vu I kept having...
