Okay before I answer - why is the road to your house blocked by a steam vent puzzle. Is this your own choice or like. Who put that there. Who put your house there. I have a lot of questions about this set up.

Tradition.

Complex puzzles used to be a way for monsters to protect themselves- build something odd and complicated that you need magic to cross easily, so any human trying to get to you is slowed down long enough for everyone to run. Except once we were sealed under a mountain without any humans around, people just kept doing that for no real reason.

[She shakes her head.]

I enjoy solving clever puzzles as much as the next woman, they're really quite fun sometimes, but putting them in the middle of the street was just ridiculous. Thank the angels we don't put them all over the place now that we're up on the Surface, it's been so much less irritating.

Man that tradition is pretty awful. Like god forbid you have groceries on you when you're trying to get home. There goes lunch, over to the other side of the puzzle, better start over. Oops I dropped the milk into the lava guess I'm eating my cereal dry tomorrow.

But to answer the original question, it's the tea, isn't it? Mint doesn't go with your motif.

In all fairness, it wasn't always lava- on the other end of the Underground, you could experience the joy of asking yourself if it was really worth it to try and retrieve your housekeys after you dropped them down an icy crevasse.

A good guess, dearie- mint is a lovely flavor, of course, but as it happens my favorite is actually lavender.

Oh man, I was sitting here trying to think of purple tea flowers that weren't poisonous, how did I forget lavender?

[Seriously, it's the most obvious choice, Gobbet.]

For the record, I'm a vanilla chai girl. Gotta get that baked goods in a cup feel.

Well, I of all people won't argue against the appeal of baked goods. I find most vanilla flavors work very nicely with cinnamon, if you ever want something to go with your tea.

...Though admittedly we might have to wait until we're somewhere better supplied to try that, given that I picked mint tea for the lie because it's all I've had the time and resources to make around here.
