...And in the mind of everyone else, for that matter. Now what?

[There's a ritualistic tendency toward coffee and donuts when pulling all-nighters. This feels...oddly appropriate, all things considered.]

Oh yes- I majored in business and economics. Useful, for what I wanted to do.

Although, one can make a career out of anything, with sufficient luck and effort. One of my old roommates did quite well with a degree in Tem Studies.

In any case, their particular subspecies of monster managed to preserve a fair amount of their unique culture after the War, so they're historically interesting.

At least, I think that's what my roommate told me about them. I don't know, it's not like I was the one majoring in it.

Guess so. Can't, uh...can't really claim that I understand everything that happened in all that.

In all fairness, I've been doing business with Temmies for years now and I don't really understand them either. Their, er, unique dialect can be a little hard to parse.

Very cheerful people, though, in their own odd way.

Guess they'd have to be pretty good businesspeople too, huh?

[And...armorsmiths? Is that a thing?]

Oh yes, they've got a knack for keeping things running.

[No matter how much money the Tem Shop lost, it never did seem to risk going out of business.]

So what is Tem Armor made out of, anyway? Can't say I ever understood that.

I have honestly no idea. I know it must involve some kind of green magic, since it's got a persistent healing effect, but when it comes to infusing magic in things all my focus was on edibles, not objects.

Maybe we should hope a few of them show up here sometime.

It would certainly make the place more lively.

...I have heard that some small percentage of humans are allergic to Temmie fur, though, that could be a problem. Then again, it's not a small island, they could probably just avoid anyone with that issue.

It's not like we have a huge amount of humans here anyway.

Well, it's certainly more humans than I grew up with, but I suppose that's not hard.

[Since the amount of humans around when she was growing up was, uh, none. The last of the six ill-fated souls fell long before she was born, and Frisk didn't arrive until she was already an adult.]

No, it doesn't quite compare to that. But there's a difference between one year of my life and the first twenty-four of them- it's been very fun, but I'm still not quite used to them all.

Guess I can't blame you.

I think it helps that all the other monsters are still figuring it out, too- it's reassuring that I'm not the only one learning.

So is this whole island thing helping or hurting at that point?

...I admit, I do have to wonder how far we'll ultimately get. I'd been worried about the future, before, but I hadn't realized I needed to be so concerned about literally repeating our past.

That is what they say about history, I guess. Repeating the mistakes of the past.

True. It's just that I'd previously thought that involved more refusal to learn from one's mistakes and less actual time travel.

We're in a liminal island space where time is pretty secondary.
